Concept – Competitive Spirit Fuels Synergy
Our goal is to bring together students who share our passion for problem-solving. We aim to provide a platform for students to forget about frameworks for a day, and to learn to take on a real-world business situation.
For us, a case competition is a mean to challenge and engage students to create solutions for problems which have no conventional answers. In a competition, minds are pitted against each other and the struggle produces beautiful results. This happens naturally when great talent is stimulated to come up with the optimal solution.
The business problem that participants will solve is in an interdisciplinary area – they will be probing the exciting interface between healthcare and computer science. The digital revolution and the immense computing power that came with it has provided thousands of new ways to improve healthcare practices. With ETH’s leading role in computer science and research, it is the ideal location for such a competition.
Participants are graduate students and postgraduate researchers from ETH Zürich and University of Basel. Other Swiss universities are welcomed to join. One of the goals of this competition is to bring students of different universities together to exchange ideas and get better acquainted with each other. The team that applies should have at least two people from ETH or University of Basel.
Sponsors – A Mutual [Bene]Fit
Our sponsors play an essential role in the competition. Not only do they financially support the competition, but they provide us with the opportunity to meet consulting leaders and industry experts. We want the students to learn about consulting from consultants themselves: hearing first-hand from opinion leaders in consulting is the most powerful way to inspire students to pursue a consulting career. It is really a mutual benefit – for the students to get exposure to consulting and for companies to increase their global outreach and recruit top talent.
“Make your mark in New York and you are a made man.” Mark Twain
